Special thanks to Seth G. from sethonsurvival.com for replying to our emails late at night when we had problems with the app and of course for his continued friendship of werewolves like us. He helps us all keep on keeping on! There’s lots more stuff coming up to the site and in the app so check back regularly. Also check out Seth’s site tonight for his Blood Moon Survivor of the Month Contest and more.

(Seth is also helping us now with a little bug in this first version of the app. If you have found it, thanks we are working on it now.)

Also stay tuned for the Frost Moon when there will be a special report from Seth himself in the app! One warning though, it’s a pretty long report. More of a book actually! Just what you would expect from the 4th biggest and 1st most long-winded supernatural survivalist on the Internet! (No offense, Seth.)

Hunter Moon versus Blood Moon

Halloween this year falls on the Hunter Moon, which is also known as the Blood Moon for a few very bloody reasons.

Read more about the Hunter or Blood Clan of Werewolves here.

The moon won’t be at its height on Halloween night like it will be in 2020 – but the Hunter Moon rises within 72 hours of Halloween, making it a true Blood Moon. Not a Blood Moon in the way that NASA scientists mean Blood Moon. To the scientist, a Blood Moon is a moon that turns red with sun fire during a lunar eclipse. To a lycan, the Blood Moon is that and something else too.

It’s going to be a bloody Halloween either way.

It’s the night that all Hunter Wolves are called on to defend the world against the beings who break through the veil of creation on Halloween. And the night when the rebel Blood Wolves will refuse to heed that call. Some of them will even end up fighting their brothers and sisters.

Let’s back up. Before the Hunter Moon was called the Blood Moon it was already pretty bloody. It brings the darker half of the year and marks the beginning of the long winter struggle against darkness and cold for all creatures in the Northern Hemisphere.

Hunters would use the October full moon light to stalk their prey at night. And animals would be slaughtered for eating in ritual ways that were meant to honor the dead, a kind of hunters’ apology for having to kill to survive. A thank-you ritual to the spirits for the sacrifice.

Well sometimes these rituals worked – and sometimes they didn’t. Sometimes they actually made the restless dead spirits angrier. A dangerous situation. Especially on Halloween. And especially if the Hunters Moon happens to coincide with Halloween. Halloween is the one night of the year when the veil between worlds is thinnest. Beings and monsters in other worlds wait all year for the right conditions to help them cross over on Halloween night.

We know that many different beings have indeed learned how to cross this veil, especially if the moon is full.  That’s why humans learned to wear a disguise, so other-worlders won’t recognize them as vulnerable humans. And why the Hunter Wolves promise to be out in full force, defending the world against the creatures who break through the veil. The Hunter Wolves train all year for this job and take an oath to defend the world on this night above all others.

At least that’s how things used to be. How they should still be. Unfortunately it’s not.

Nobody knows the name of that first hunter to kill a werewolf on the Hunter Moon but there’s a rumor that his story has been preserved and passed down by the Blood Wolves – along with his teeth and his bones. If you can find a Blood Wolf to tell you the true story, ask him. But fat chance getting a Blood Werewolf to talk to you. Especially on the Blood Moon.

All that is known for sure is that it happened on a Halloween Hunters Moon, much like this one A new, young genetic werewolf unexpectedly transformed in her village, alone. Her family was all out, racing with the Hunter pack toward a breach in the veil between worlds, preparing to fight back the beings to break through it:  netherworlders, shadow worlders or otherworlders. These beings have been called by many names throughout history.

The new werewolf stumbled out into the forest on her new legs, and that’s where it happened – a human shot her. Killed her on the spot with a silver-tip arrow. Some even say it was one of her friends, trying to hunt with the adults on the Hunters’ Moon.

When the girls’ family returned to the village at sunrise to find her body in the woods they vowed to separate from the village and from the Hunter Wolves forever. They stopped defending the world and made their own clan, the Blood Clan, dedicated exclusively to self-preservation from the enemies they see everywhere, all the time. Now they claim the Hunter Moon as the Blood Moon. They don’t take the Hunter Wolf vow to protect the earth on Halloween and all year around from shadowy being bent on destruction.

Some whisper that the Blood Wolves may even be trying to help bring about this destruction.

So whether you celebrate the Hunter Moon or the Blood Moon, it’s sure to be bloody Halloween out there either way. Between fighting for the worlds’ survival and stocking up for the long winter, check back for the launch of our new werewolf app. Thanks Seth – and Graham too –  for helping us to finish it. Your Lupine Life app should be up on the iTunes store for free on Halloween.

Also we hope you’ll stop by Seth On Survival on or around Halloween. There’s sure to be a Survivor of the Month prize along with more helpful tips for your ongoing survival.

The Secret of the Blue Moon Werewolves: Contest

With the Blue Moon, readers emailed to ask the following question: with all the different moons and their clans, what kind of werewolves transform on the Blue Moon? Is there a Blue Moon Clan?

In honor of the Blue Moon we had a little contest inviting werewolves to tell us what they know. So without further ado, congratulations to Izzy, a werepyre, who wrote in to tell us what she knows about Blue Werewolves. Her reply is printed below. Izzy will receive a small iTunes gift card in her email.

Blue Moon Werewolves: They do exist!

I’m a werepyre myself and I believe I have run into a couple blue moon clans. Now to answer the first question, “What type of werewolves transform on a blue moon,” I will tell you. Most bluewolves as I call them, are a very bright shade of blue, however the clan leader or alpha usually has a much darker shade to show he’s the alpha. Unlike my clan they don’t hunt in packs, they all split up when the blue moon comes out and they hunt on their own, then when they are all done they’ll meet up back at wherever they hide themselves to share everybody’s kill. There are some signs to tell if someone you know is a bluewolf. 1. If they can’t be separated from the color blue by anything. 2. If they tend to go their own way somewhere or try to find new ways of getting somewhere. And last but not least 3. They will share everything they have, even if it’s unreasonable to share. Bluewolves tend to be stronger then even a werepyre and are the mortal enemies of the werepyre’s and lightningwolves. If anybody could ever get the bluewolfs to all attack something or somewhere all at the same time while working together it would be unimaginable death. I travel quite a lot and I believe I have found some prophecy’s written in ancient greek. Since I admire demigods and their culture so much I learned ancient Greek. I read the prophecy’s and I may not be the best Greek reader but I think they say something about a newborn bluewolf that will be born on the blue moon on Friday. He will age faster then the others and surpass the alpha where he will stop aging at just the right age to become an alpha. He will be voted as the new alpha and will lead all the other bluewolves in an army where they will all work together to destroy any other type of wolf out there. We all must try to stop them because as I said if they make an army and all work together to kill something. They will succeed. Unless we all work together to and stop them.

Thanks to Izzy for sharing her knowledge of the Blue Moon Werewolves.

Welcome to Your Lupine Life!

YLL is a place for real werewolves from all around the world, started by a group of  werewolves who met in their lupine lives. We were all fans of the SOS werewolves page at sethonsurvival but we saw that SOS needed more specific info about different kinds of werewolves and an app just for our kind.

When we emailed Seth about it, he encouraged us to make our own site and an app/game just for werewolves. He helped us figure out a lot of stuff and told us about Louis and his situation, so we eventually invited him to help too.

Hope you enjoy the site. If you are a werewolf, please make yourself at home. If you are a vampire, who has stumbled on this site by accident, please go find a vampire site. Unless you are friends with a werewolf. Then by all means, you can stay.

We are still working with Seth to finish the site and the app-game, so please check back again soon for more updates. And join us anytime to leave your own mark!

The Ice Moon is in January

Ice Werewolves usually experience their first transformation in January. For this reason, it’s said that their main powers involve freezing and slowing things. If an Ice Wolf transforms for the first time on New Year’s Day, it’s said this power can freeze and slow time itself.

For more info about Ice Wolves please visit the Ice Werewolves page.
